After breaking ground in June 2008, the topping ceremony took place on May 14, 2009. The fabrication and erection of 1,759 tons of structural steel form the framework for the new six-story United States Courthouse in Rockford, Illinois. When completed, the structure will house five courtrooms and numerous court offices. The project was a FEMA 350/Progressive Collapse Building which resulted in substantial moment welds. |
This project is a cornerstone of the revitalization of downtown Rockford.
