Music City Center is Nashville's new downtown 1.2 million sq.ft. convention center. The $50 million contract contains more than 13,000 tons of structural steel. The complex design features a rolling double-pitched roof and an elevated roof in the shape of a guitar. The structure is supported in part with 240-foot catenary arch trusses in the exhibit halls and ballroom roof trusses spanning 270 feet. These trusses were assembled into modules weighing up to 790,000 Ibs and lifted into place with strand jacks. Production scheduling, logistics and deliveries were organized to support operations of 4-tower cranes and a 12-month schedule.
