The 650,000 sq. ft. expansion of Indiana Convention Center includes $35 million / 8,000 tons of structural steel. Primary truss girders typically spanned 90 ft. Secondary trusses typically spanned 240 ft. Built-up exposed steel box girders supported the roof above the pre-function area with steel hangers supporting parts of the second floor. The new main entrance for the Convention Center featured a 55 ft. cantilevered roof, framed by built-up beams and built-up columns.
