Lenex Awarded Contract for Carmel City Center Work

Indianapolis, IN (August 2007) - Lenex Steel Company, an Indianapolis-based steel fabricator, has been selected to fabricate and install the structural steel for phase one of the Carmel City Center project, which broke ground in March. The project's first phase includes development of 400,000 square feet of retail, dining, and office space.

The first steel beams and columns are scheduled for delivery this November. The project will involve 2200 tons of structural steel fabricated at Lenex Steel Company's Terre Haute facility. Lenex will work closely with McComas Engineering, Signature Construction, and Pedcor Design Group as the building design evolves to accommodate the needs of its future tenants.

Located on an 80-acre site in the heart of downtown Carmel, the Carmel City Center will combine business and lifestyle culture in a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere of exceptional restaurants, independent shops, and residential living. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2008. The hotel will be added in 2009, and the Performing Arts Center will fulfill the development's vision in 2010.
